About Maren

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna, and an artistic researcher. My work sits at the intersection of qualitative social science and public health, investigating how sociopolitical, institutional, and environmental contexts shape health and health governance. Combining qualitative research, evidence synthesis, and art-science, I examine health across human, animal, plant, and ecosystem domains to advance sustainable, equitable approaches to prevention. My current art-science projects focus on dialysis care, antimicrobial resistance, and the intersections of climate and health.

Too Close to Notice traces how intensive fungicide use in tulip production contributes to antifungal resistance spanning plant, environmental, and human health.

With Deconstruire l'organe pour refaire le monde, we deconstructed a dialysis machine to interrogate the material, social, and economic conditions of care, and to probe questions of future access and sustainability.

These projects extend my governance and One Health interests into concrete, material forms of inquiry.

I am available for commissions and cooperation worldwide. For inquiries and bookings please contact:
